How to Be Warm, Sexy and Edgy in Leather Pants
Faux leather pants are warm, sexy and edgy. Even if that’s not your style, they balance out when worn with their opposites: soft, feminine, girly, ladylike, even businesslike. And they don’t have to be black; there are many other colors available now. And they don’t have to be skin-tight. The latest styles of leather pants are loose with drawstrings, gathered like joggers, shaped like culottes or with wide legs. Because of all of these style options, age doesn’t matter. Besides, if you’re older and facing imperfections on your legs, it totally covers any problem you might have!
Faux leather pants go well with feminine blouses, corset tops, lace and chiffon. When the cold weather subsides, you can even wear them with tank tops and crop tops if that’s your thing! To be extra warm all over, add a sweater such as a cable pullover or a cardigan.
Boots are the go-to footwear for leather pants. For day, you can wear slip-on sneakers. For evening, heels play up the sexy vibe.
Following are outfit ideas using black faux-leather pants and more outfit combinations after that using any color faux-leather pants. These outfit suggestions range from the transition of Fall-to-Winter to the transition to Spring (for instance, if you have colored leather or cut-out booties or strappy suede sandals).
(This writer recommends faux leather in order to be kind to animals, so for all of the following “leather” pants I really mean “faux.”)

Outfit Combinations, Ways to Wear It
Autumn/Winter Style, Fall/Winter, Faux Leather Pants, Outfit Ideas, Sexy
Leather pants are so popular right now! I’m planning to try on a pair at Zara some time next week and see how they look on my body type.
They’ll look just fine if you get the right shape for your body. It’s like finding the right pair of jeans: anybody can wear jeans but it takes some time to find the right ones. Good luck; I hope you find a pair you love. And then remember to come back for ideas on ways to wear it!
At first I never thought I could wear these, but now that I have a couple pairs, I just love them.
XOXO

Wow, Jodie, I myself only have one pair…but that’s because I had to get rid of a couple after losing weight (after having a reaction to the vaccine, I cleaned up my diet; wrote about it on the blog). When we try wearing new things in new ways, it can be a surprise how much we can actually carry off. Age truly doesn’t matter. It doesn’t prevent us from wearing things, it may just change the way in which we wear it. But that’s true for fashions as well. They don’t go away; they just get reinvented in new ways.
These are very chic looks, and I love them styled with Converse!
I love the casual styling myself! Sneakers make leather pants wearable for day or for casual evenings. It emphasizes the edge and not the sexiness. And as you said, overall they can be very chic. When you wear them to please your true self, age doesn’t matter. 😉
I had black leather pants when I was young, and I loved them then. I think this trend will pass me by now, but I definitely enjoyed seeing the looks that you featured mostly on women who are younger and thinner than I. What really caught me was the fabulous variety in color which makes sense since leather pants are faux leather now.
Sorry about the younger, thinner models. That’s about all I can find on the internet when looking up outfits to illustrate my blog topics. I do pass up the ones who look like little girls or who are dressed too skimpily. I wrote about the abysmal situation where older, real women are not represented in the media and on the internet. There are at least a few older models now, but nowhere near enough; it’s just a start. Still, you can be sexy and edgy if you want to in faux leather pants. You just need the right fit, not tight ones…and worn your own way. But maybe it’s just not your style at all and you’re not interested in getting any. I definitely encourage you to be your true self.
When I was young there was nothing better than the sexiness of a faux leather pant. I love the look.
Age doesn’t matter. There are leather pants now that are not tight; they come in all kinds of styles and colors. And the faux leather has a nice stretch to it. This lovely look is warm, too. I don’t wear my leather leggings during the spring but I know of other mid-life bloggers who pair them with summery tops and toppers.
I’m a big fan of faux leather and have quite a few options in my own closet!
Wonderful! I hope I’ve given you some new ideas for creating new outfit combinations with your leather pants.
