- Don’t wear super summery shoes
- Don’t wear tights with a noticeable seam
- Don’t wear flat open-toed shoes
- Don’t wear worn-out shoes
- Do choose the proper tights: opaque, woolly or see-through
- Do choose the proper open-toed shoes: chunky urban-style sandals, delicate sandals or peep-toe shoes

Socks are a different matter. Flat sandals or open-toe shoes are totally fine with socks. With these, you can go wild with socks in all colors, prints and textures. Socks with Birkenstock sandals are a classic.
