9 Outfits to Make You Look Beautiful at Holiday Parties
‘Tis the season for holiday parties! It’s time to dress up and have a lot more fun than usual. Below, I have 9 outfit ideas to make you look beautiful at holiday parties of various sorts. There’s something for a cocktail party, an evening party, an office party, a party at home or at an informal restaurant, or even a party at the bar. Age doesn’t matter because you can apply these outfit ideas to your taste wherever you go.
Here Are 9 Outfits to Make You Look Beautiful at Holiday Parties:
- At a cocktail party: A cape dress or other dramatic dress + textured tights. Add a tassel necklace, rosary necklace, y-necklace or statement necklace.
- For an evening party: a gown + a cropped jacket + boots.
- At the bar: A fitted black shirt + a black lacy skirt + a crystal collar necklace. You may wish to layer it with more necklaces.
- Holiday party at home or an informal restaurant: A sparkly top, shiny blouse, sequined cardigan, etc. + dark-wash denims, jean skirt or nice pair of slacks.

That Free People dress has my name written all over it! You just have to know what size you are because they’re usually cut quite generously! Now, I just need a party to go to! It’s too bad we live so far apart. I think we’d have a fun time!

The Free People dress is so pretty. The few times I’ve tried their dresses, there is just so much fabric–better suited to a slim frame.
I agree they tend toward voluminous cuts, but you never know what might flatter you. I just read in the blog Not Dressed As Lamb that her greatest style tip of all time is to try the wild card: try on something you love just in case it actually happens to look good on you even if you don’t think it would! Who knows?
