How to Look Festive at Casual Holiday Events

During the holiday season, I have many community events and gatherings with friends and family.  There are only a couple of special events that I need to dress up for.  But even when I go out to meet up with friends, family or community groups, I enjoy wearing something festive at this time of year.  Age doesn’t matter when you’ve got style!  So here are some outfit ideas for you for casual holiday style.

I am offering the following ideas to inspire you to create your own special looks.  Substitute what you have and/or what you love to make it your own.  Express your true self and have fun!

Outfit Ideas for Casual Holiday Style

Holiday girls’ night in:

• Knot a flannel shirt over a t-shirt and jeans.  Add fun booties.

Country evening:

1. A ruffled top + jeans.
2. An ivory satin shirt + jeans + a metallic or jeweled belt.
3. A navy, ivory or blue satin shirt + blue jeans.  Add an embellished leather belt.
4. A flowing top + jeans.
5. Black sweater + black pants.  Add a black belt with a jeweled buckle.

For a casual get-together:

• A party dress + a colorful, structured jacket or motorcycle jacket.  Add some shiny jewelry, tights, and maybe some flats.

Other casual holiday events:

• Black faux leather pants + a sweater.  Add earrings + flats.

• A fun frock + fab boots.

• Add a dressy top to a pair of sleek jeans + dressy shoes + bling.  You may also want to add a jacket with shine.

• A chunky red sweater + black leather pants or skirt + black boots.
• A chunky red sweater + a t-shirt dress.
• A chunky red sweater + a short skirt.  Add tights.

• An embellished cardigan with blue jeans and a top of your choice.  Add ankle boots.
