What’s the simplified, easy, low-cost way to sound healing?

I like to use my Tingsha bells to clear my crystals and my space. My intention is to wipe out any negativity with the higher frequencies of these high-pitched bells. Proof of the Benefits of Sound Healing
The U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, did an observational study on the “Effects of Singing Bowl Sound Meditation on Mood, Tension and Well-being.” This study used sound baths using a wide array of singing bowls, tingsha bells and similar instruments. Here are excerpts from the discussion of the final results:
“Sound healing has been used for centuries and been utilized in various forms by cultures the world over, including native peoples…
“This was an observational study designed to examine the potential effects of a singing bowl meditation on mood, tension, anxiety, physical pain, and spiritual well-being. A significant difference was found in all endpoints examined in response to the meditation.
“The tension subscale in particular displayed highly significant effects for participants post-meditation, thus providing support to the hypothesis that a sound meditation would increase feelings of relaxation and decrease feelings of stress. Additionally, depressed mood and anxiety scores on the HADS were significantly reduced post-meditation compared with pre-meditation. Moreover, scores on the FACIT revealed increased feelings of spiritual well-being, as well as faith, immediately following the sound meditation. Thus, while less desirable mood states such as tension, anger, and depression decreased following the meditation, potentially desirable variables such as a sense of spiritual well-being increased.”

Angie, this is such a fabulous post with so much great information. I have only tried sound healing when I go to my Reiki healer and it really is so soothing. I have never even considered the fact that I could incorporate it into my yoga sessions and my home in general. I think I need some tingsha bells in my life now!

Fascinating, Angie. I am not sure if I have heard about singing bowls before. I will read your earlier post on the bowls. It makes me think of wetting the rim of a glass and running one’s finger on the rim to produce sound and the glass orchestras that are often popular during the holidays. But what it really makes me think about is how relaxing the sound of wind chimes can be. You definitely have made me curious about this. I tried meditation a couple of years ago, and with a guided meditation it was occasionally helpful but not enough to make me continue with it. Because the chimes or the bowl is a stimulus, I think they would be more helpful to me.
The Tingsha bells are easier to use than a singing bowl, which isn’t all that hard either. All you need is a minute or more of focusing on the beautiful sound vibration. If you want to meditate too, these sound instruments quiet the mind making it easier. I was amazed that these little bells are so effective!
