6 Ways to Wear Lounge Pants in the Popular New Athflow Style
Your lounge pants don’t have to stay home. Women are giving these pants a lot more potential by combining them in new ways. So I hope to inspire you to come up with more outfit ideas to take your most comfortable house clothes to the streets with confidence. Age doesn’t matter. Below, you’ll find six ways to wear lounge pants in the popular athflow style plus a style tip on footwear!
What Do I Mean by Lounge Pants?
Lounge pants are for lounging around the house, sometimes made in a matching top-and-bottom set. They’re usually made of a heavier fabric than pajama bottoms (often fleece which is pretty warm) and they often have pockets.
Lounge pants are one of the best pieces of clothing you can buy. They are comfortable, stylish, and can be worn in any situation.
Lounge pants come in comfortable fabrics such as knits, thermal knit, French terry, fleece and cotton. Wear them in the athflow style. I gave an introduction to athflow in my blog post on athleisure HERE.
Besides wide-leg pants in a silky or soft fabric, other comfortable pants that can be worn in the athflow/athleisure style include wide-leg pants, palazzo pants, joggers, sweatpants of all sorts, yoga pants, leggings, harem pants, track pants and pajama pants.
Style Tip
Lounge Pants: Dress them up with heels, dress them down with sneakers, or make them summery with sandals.
6 Ways to Wear Lounge Pants
Here are six ways to wear lounge pants now. Take a look in your closet and see how many outfit combinations you can come up with using these ideas.
- Dress up silky lounge pants with an eyelet tunic or a flowy blouse.
- A fitted tank or tee + lounge pants.
- Wear a silky or satiny shirt, printed or not, with lounge pants in a toned color. You might like to add a necklace and sandals or boots and a fedora.
- A relaxed or oversized t-shirt over wide-leg lounge pants. You might like to accessorize with delicate silver or gold jewelry, such as a bracelet. Or for spring and summer, you might try sandals and a chunky bead pendant.
- A t-shirt and lounge pants in the same or similar color.
- For a loose and comfortable outfit with a touch of style, wear a tunic over lounge pants. You might like to add a tassel necklace and gold or tan sandals.
