Age doesn't matter.

Color Style Tip: Do You Know What Color Has the Greatest Versatility?

Today I have a simple color style tip for you. You may already know the answer to what color has the greatest versatility. But whether you do or not, considering this tip will help to free up your color and accessory ideas. And that will likely give you new outfits beyond what you thought you have so far. Age doesn’t matter. Just mix things up and have fun, because older is bolder!

Color Style Tip:

Green goes with anything. Whether it’s a green top, bottom or topper or any type of accessory, it will go with any other color. You’ll be able to create more outfit combinations by using this tip and to add more variety to your favorite outfits. If you buy a coat or shoes or handbag in green, it will go with anything you’re wearing. That, my friend, can make your wardrobe more colorful!

Sure, green goes with neutrals, blues and other greens. But that’s not all. Take any clothes or accessories that you have in green and try combining them with every other possibility in your closet.

Olive & Forest Green Are Colored Neutrals

From Talbots: Olive with peach

Olive and forest green are definitely colored neutrals that go with absolutely everything. Now although olive goes with everything, there are some colors that look best with it. To find out what they are, see my post on “What Colors Go Best With Olive for the Most Beautiful Outfits?” HERE.

Add Green Accessories to Anything

Here are some ideas for using green accessories:

Playa Bonita Cardigan in Vivid Green from Soft Surroundings with a neutral dress and a necklace made of neutral-color stones
  • with a neutral outfit;
  • with a red or black sheath dress;
  • with a bright-color top, such as cobalt, and white or blue jeans;
  • with a sweater and jeans;
  • or with a floral dress, especially if there is green in the print.

Combine Green With Colors You Wouldn’t Normally Consider

Woodland Fantasy Coat in Lemongrass from Sundance with a purple cardigan shows how a green coat can be very useful no matter what you’re wearing.

From John Lewis AW18: The Vogue Verdict – burgundy and red with green

The example above shows how green goes perfectly with any shade of red. They are complementary on the color wheel.

What other colors go with everything? Turquoise is one of them. But if you want to know the very best color pairings with turquoise, see my post “What Are the Best Ways to Wear Turquoise for the Brightest Outfits?” Denim blue is another versatile color. Animal print is a favorite of mine that goes with any color.
