How to Make Lots More Outfits When You Layer Animal Print Dresses
This is the seventh in a series on animal print outfit ideas. I started out with three style tips and then went on to tops HERE, toppers HERE and bottoms HERE. What can we do to come up with outfit ideas for dresses? Well, that’s done with layering. Layering is great for transitional weather and definitely for fall and winter. But you also need something to keep the chill off in warm weather in restaurants and offices. And then there are lightweight pieces made of sheer, semi-sheer, lace, crochet, eyelet, etc., that can be added in spring and summer. So this post is focused on how to layer animal-print dresses. In my next post of this series, I will take a look at how animal-print accessories can punch up any outfit.
These are just ideas for you. Please substitute with what you have. One of these ideas can have many variations.
Okay, so let’s dive right into these outfit ideas and how they look. I hope this is helpful to you!
How to Layer Animal Print Dresses
- Urban Safari: Add a khaki jacket or vest to an animal-print dress. Add gold and wood jewelry. You might like to wear flats.
- Since an animal print is considered a neutral, you can add any printed topper or tunic over it. You might like to add a scarf. Turquoise goes with anything, so it is a good choice as jewelry.
- Top a leopard-print dress with a floral shirt worn open as a jacket.
- Wear a sheer shirt open as a jacket over a sleeveless animal-print dress. Or try a lace cardigan or lace jacket.
- Add a top, such as a gray t-shirt or whatever you like, over an animal-print maxi dress so that it looks like a skirt.
- Or add a tunic over an animal-print dress.
- A pashmina is handy to throw over the shoulder of an animal-print dress in case you get chilly. You might like to add a hat.
Good for Transitional Weather
- Warm up an animal-print dress with a cami or tank under it and a cardigan over it. Add tights and boots.
- Or, layer a long-sleeve t-shirt under a sleeveless animal-print dress and add tights & boots.
- Top a leopard-print dress with a black faux leather jacket. You might like to add a cross pendant. Or you could accessorize rock’n’roll style: with chains, spiked jewelry, studded boots, etc.
- Try a black leather jacket over a leopard-print maxi dress belted in black. Add tall black heeled boots and black accessories.
- Layer a denim jacket over your animal-print dress.
- Use a cape as coverup over an animal-print dress.
- Any cardigan is game as a topper over an animal-print dress.
- For instance, add a black drape-front cardigan over a leopard maxi dress (or a cardi in a color that’s in the dress.) Then you might accessorize with statement gold earrings and a bead bracelet.
- Try a charcoal duster cardigan over a leopard-print maxi dress. Belt the dress in black. Add tall black boots with a heel.Principles Blue Petite Animal Print Midi Dress from Verishop with a black jacket
