How to Wear Peasant Tops Beautifully for Spring, Summer & Transitional Weather Too!

Welcome to my brainstorming session on how to wear peasant tops, beautifully and in different ways! I came up with almost 30 outfit ideas here for spring, summer and the transition to fall. If you know of ways to wear them in winter, I’d love to know. You can leave a reply below this post to share your inspirations with us — the more creative the better. Age doesn’t matter.

Peasant tops are easy to wear through three seasons because they come in so many colors, materials, prints and patterns. You’ll find them in sheer, silk, lace, eyelet, gauze, and durable cotton materials. They come in black, white, solid colors, chambray, stripes, tropical motifs, autumn leaf prints and more.

Embroidery is a common feature, giving these tops exotic interest.

The more feminine designs with details such as chiffon, ruffles and lace go easily from day to night.

There are many ways to wear peasant tops in spring and summer, so I started with that. Then I followed up with how to wear them for fall transitional weather, which I will definitely want to try this autumn. I hope the ideas below will help you to come up with new outfits that make your true self shine!

How to Wear Peasant Tops in the Spring & Summer

Lumi Top from Soft Surroundings with matching easy flowing pants and delicate gold accessories is a modern take on how to wear a peasant top.
  1. Wear a peasant blouse loose or belted over jeans or skirts. To accessorize, you might like to add a white camisole underneath, a couple of strands of beads, a bracelet, etc.
  2. A blue peasant top would go well with blue jeans or jean shorts, but any color goes with denim as well. Accessory suggestions:  wedge espadrilles, a turquoise collar necklace, turquoise ring, one or more bracelets.
  3. A white peasant top, or color of your choice + jean shorts or jeans + gold statement earrings.
  4. Pair a peasant top with a peasant skirt, especially in a matching color!
  5. A peasant blouse over a matching-color skirt with sequins. Sling a silver or gold belt over the blouse. Add a pendant in the neckline.
  6. Loosely tuck a white peasant blouse into a white printed skirt. Add an ornate ethnic belt. Trick:  twist and tie a long scarf over the belt and tie it in a knot off to the side.
