20 Ways to Wear Red Pants That Will Make You Stand Out
A long time ago, I ordered a red pantsuit but the jacket didn’t fit. I wondered whether to keep just the pants and my sister said, “Who needs red pants?” But I didn’t send them back, and I’m glad I kept them. They add a pop of color to your wardrobe and are good for festive occasions. If we don’t need them, we still delight in them. Age doesn’t matter. But in order to make red pants really useful, you need to stretch your imagination and pair them with pieces that you wouldn’t normally think of. So in the spirit of helping you to make them as versatile as possible, I have found over 20 ways to wear red pants that will make you stand out!
This article has been updated to give you the highest quality content. Therefore, I have added more outfit ideas than there were originally.
I hope this is helpful to you! Please let me know. Leave a reply below this post.
Ways to Wear Red Pants
Red pants can be worn all ways and at all times — any season; day or night; for business, casual or dressy events.
Here are some colors to pair with red pants:
When wearing red pants, pair them with a top in green, teal, turquoise, aqua, a similar red, yellow, blue, navy, maroon, pink, beige, gray or black. Or you could just add these colors as accessories and wear a neutral top.
Examples of How to Combine Colors With Red Pants —
- A green top + red pants. This is great for the holidays, but if the shade of green is different such as blue green or olive this can work all year.
- With a citron green top & red pants, add gold cuffs & pumps.
- An orange camisole + red pants + a purple cardigan.
- A coral top + red pants. Add a coral bracelet + coral earrings.
- A purple top + red pants. Add a purple or green statement necklace + a clutch + nude or beige footwear.
- Pair a teal printed and/or embellished top with red pants. Add teal & red bracelets.
Here are some shoe colors that go with red pants:
Red pants go well with gray, black, navy, white, nude, brown, mint or teal footwear. Of course, red shoes or boots would be a good match too. Animal prints go with everything, and leopard print looks great with red!

You are right: the red pants make a bold fashion statement and a graphic tee can make a statement about what you think. Lol!
I just love how the red stands out when we see more darker colors this time of year.

It sure does that! You do a great job of wearing bright colors, so I’m not surprised you would like this. 😉
I love the drama of red pants (or skirts or tights)! Lots of great combination suggestions here. I really need to try the red and pink combination. I recently styled a bright reddish orange skirt with a teal sweater and I really liked the result. It will be on my blog soon. Thanks for sharing these styling tips and linking up with me!
