What Colors Go Best With Teal for Sensational Outfits From Summer to Fall?
I’m excited that designers have turned to teal for clothing designs that can go from Summer to Fall in 2024. Blue-green is my favorite color, so it was fun for me to check out what colors go best with teal. The result can be some really sensational outfits!
One of the most appealing things about teal is that it is a universal color that looks good on everyone. You just have to choose your favorite shade. I’m sure you’ll find when you wear this that age doesn’t matter!
In her article Color Trends to Brighton Up Your Wardrobe in 2024, Kendall Becker at Refinery 29 wrote:
“There were hints of teal on the spring 2024 runways before it became the defining color of the pre-fall 2024 collections, as confirmed by influential labels like Valentino, Carolina Herrera, Ulla Johnson and Chanel. It acts as the perfect transitional shade, bringing the sun-kissed ethos of summer days on the Mediterranean into the deeper hues of blue and green for fall. Try this out in a swimsuit, a breezy maxi dress, or even a chic leather bag.”
When Fall arrives, you can wear this color in warm and cozy sweaters, dresses, pants, skirts, tights, hats, scarves, gloves and even boots.
What Colors Go Best With Teal?
Blues & Greens
Try teal with other shades of blue-green, blues and greens for a monochrome look.
Since teal goes well with blues, jeans in any shade of blue are not just the usual go-to but an ideal choice.
Purple
Create a color-block outfit with teal and purple or plum.
Reds or Neon Greens
Combine brilliant teals with coral, poppy and other reds or with chartreuse/lime/citron.
Pink
Green and blue are popular color pairings with pink. So it makes sense that pink is one of the most pleasing partners for teal, which is a shade of both blue and green. Choose softer tones of white to go with this color pairing to create a tranquil and sophisticated look. Or for more energy, accent this outfit with orange or mustard.
Neutrals
Neutrals to wear with teal include:
- browns, from tan to chocolate;
- whites in all shades through to beige and taupe;
- navy blue;
- grays;
- and black.
Teal goes great with brown for Fall. Cinnamon, rust, copper, shades of orange and mustard or golden yellows are also good color pairings.
And you know what I always say: animal prints go with everything!
Prints
Brighten your day with a teal printed piece paired with a solid teal piece.
Wear It to Ground Yourself for a Peaceful Mood
Wear teal on a day when you want to feel calm, serene and balanced. If this is your goal, wear monochrome teal or combine it with neutrals.
Use Teal as a Colored Neutral
One of my blogger friends, Marsha of Marsha in the Middle, reminded me of this because she noticed that it seems teal goes with just about anything. That’s because it can be used as a colored neutral. For more information on this subject, see my post “Love to Know What Colors Act as Neutrals?” HERE.

I love teal as a color, also in my beadwork 😀
I never thought of it as a neutral before, interesting!

Hi, Cat – Your teal beadwork must be dazzling! Since this is a colored neutral, jewelry in this color can go with absolutely anything. Nice to hear from you – Angie
Beautiful color! I love clothes that have character, either through color or just a different look. I have a few cashmere dresses that are beige, but their look is amazing.
Yes, color is one of the ways to really make a look!
I think teal is close to being a neutral due to all the colors it pairs so well with. Gosh, I wish I had the money for that Caroline Herrara jumpsuit! It’s fabulous!

You are totally right, Marsha! I’m going to add that into this post, because teal is a colored neutral. It’s in the feature photo and is listed in my post “Love to Know What Colors Act as Neutrals?”
