Red Accessories

Red accessories add texture to red clothing or a pop of color to neutrals. A punchy handbag in the vibrant hue or a classic shoe, like a kitten heel or loafer, goes a long way when paired with your go-to khaki trench coat or favorite black blazer. A statement piece of bold, red jewelry pairs especially well with all-black looks.

  • Red is one of those colors I seem to shy away from even though my husband always compliments me when I wear it. I need to create a list of colors to intentionally add to my wardrobe as I see holes. I absolutely love red with purple…that clash of colors makes me smile!

  • Big fan of red for autumn, and wearing it in today’s blog post. I love the Anthropologie red skirt. Thanks for linking at #WowOnWednesday Angie

    • I’m so glad you gave me the feedback on that, because as I was typing in the colors I wondered if it was helpful for my readers. I do use my color combinations to create outfits. It takes some searching through my wardrobe, but it also causes me to find new outfits I wouldn’t have thought of. So the results are rewarding!

  • I love wearing red. It can make the right pop of color, up the mood and there is a shade for everybody. A warm red paired with olive and brown is posh without being over the top. A cool red looks great with silver/gray and black. The muted and pastel versions like burgundy and pink are almost neutrals. Thus, one can make a quasi-monochromatic look easily.

    • Hi, Nicole – I appreciate you adding your insights! Yes, indeed, burgundy/wine color is a colored neutral, so it can be combined with any other color. Pale pink/blush also works like a neutral. Thanks for taking the time of comment. XO – Angie
