Age doesn't matter.

14 Glamorous and Fun Ways to Wear Sequined Skirts and Dresses Fall & Winter

Sequined dresses and skirts are great for evening outfits, but optional for an evening wardrobe. They are glamorous and fun. If you’d like to try out ways to wear sequined skirts and dresses during the cold-weather months, read on to start creating your favorite sparkly looks!

This is an updated post to provide the highest quality content.

If you have one or more sequined skirts and/or dresses, I hope you get inspiration from the outfit ideas I’m sharing here. If you don’t have a sequined piece, you might get interested in adding one to your evening wardrobe. There are all different kinds, from simple to all-out extravagant.

Shiny Sequin Long Skirt by BertugGirlDress at Etsy with both a sweatshirt and sneakers

In most cases, there’s a way to dress down a formal piece. You can combine it with anything from sweatshirts to sneakers. So don’t deprive yourself just because you think you don’t have anywhere to wear it. And age doesn’t matter, of course.

You can find clothes with a little or a lot of sequins. That makes it easy to wear sequins in your outfits anytime.

Please don’t feel limited by what I’m calling sequins. You can always substitute when creating outfits, just like you do in food recipes. Use “sparkle” as the key idea. For instance, I was given a brown short-sleeved turtleneck dress covered in amber crystals. A metallic skirt or dress counts in these outfit combinations, too. The sequins don’t have to cover the skirt; they can be sprinkled here and there, in designs or embroidered onto the fabric.

You could also use a tulle skirt that has sparkles. For more ways to wear a tulle skirt, see my post on that HERE.

Dress Up With a Sequined Dress

A sequined dress is a natural go-to for big evenings, such as New Year’s Eve and such. Warm it up with a blazer or evening wrap.

Try wearing it to dinner with gold heels and a dinner ring. Or simply add your fanciest accessories. You know what to do.

But do you know how to style sequined skirts and dresses so you can wear them for dressed-up day or easy evening events? The rest of this post gives you a wide range of ways to do that.

    • I know how you feel. I hope you find one you like! I’m still hoping to find a long, silky, bias-cut skirt. As for my sequined skirts, they are Eastern Indian skirts with hand-sewn sequin designs. I love them because I can wear them just about anywhere.
