Age doesn't matter.

This Year, Turn Up the Volume on Luxury With Lavish Statement Jewelry

From the recent focus on minimalism, delicate gold jewelry and quiet luxury, the fashion trends in 2025 are swinging to the opposite. Now it’s time for maximum luxury, opulence and the idea that more is more. You can wear what you like of course. But if you enjoy upscale extravagance, at least once in awhile, now is your chance to indulge. An easy and affordable way to achieve this update is with statement jewelry. Pile on what you already have or buy something absolutely awesome to wear all this year.

When times are hard, it seems that we need to indulge more. Perhaps that’s why this year’s styles are so embellished. We can at least look expensive. Let’s explore the different ways to dress glamorously and have more fun with our outfits. Age doesn’t matter, as Iris Apfel’s style over 100 (see my post here) has proven.

Turn Up the Volume on Luxury With Statement Jewelry

Some of the statement jewelry from which you may choose are chunky, stacked bracelets; long, beaded necklaces; big tassel earrings; and opulent, gilded adornments. Go ahead and pair with some equally lavish items from your wardrobe.

If you like delicate gold jewelry, it’s time to pile it on with some big accents thrown in. Layered over a black turtleneck above is a statement gold necklace with a couple of gold chains and a big gold cuff or two over each wrist.

Chunky pearls with an irregular shape are baroque in style, but pile on any and all the pearls you like!

Crosses, bows and floral motifs are common in these designs.

Ultimately, Baroque jewelry is the stuff of queens and princesses. Pile on the jewels and enjoy the look of luxury.

Beaded Jewelry

Layer a mass of matching or toned bead necklaces over a suit whether it’s velvet or tweed or anything in between. Or layer lots of bead necklaces over a gorgeous dress and leather jacket.

Statement Jewelry:  Earrings

Add big gold earrings of any kind to all your outfits.

Tassels:  Necklaces and Earrings

Shoulder dusting tassel earrings were seen throughout many designer collections and therefore should be easy to find in stores this year. Other tassel earrings are big, fluffy and colorful. So choose your favorites!

Thick, Big and Stacked Bracelets

Start by pairing at least two big bangles or cuffs on one wrist. Or stack as many as you like.

A matching pair of cuffs, one on each wrist, was seen on runways from Fall 2024 to Pre-Fall 2025…so beautiful!

You might like to try thick gold chain-linked bracelets or leather-like cuffs.

Statement Jewelry:  Necklaces

Charms on multiple chains = maximalism!

Choose necklaces that are big, sparkly and/or long. Or layer multiples.

Chain Belts

Chloe Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear Look #34 from Vogue showcases a statement gold chain belt.

A big chain belt has its place over a knit top & bottom set. Dress it up even more with special shoes or a pair of heels.

Try using a chain belt to create a bracelet or necklace.

Or you might try stacking chain belts with leather ones.

  • I am thrilled to see these runways! I have some delicate necklaces but find myself reaching for my big statement necklaces much more. I love that Baroque look! I need to get some pearl necklaces in various lengths…obviously not real ones cuz I know I’d break them! Thanks for making my day, Angie!

    • Hi, Marsha – I think the baroque statement necklaces are definitely your style and would go with a lot of the jewelry that you already have. They definitely go with the Victorian boots you have. Pearl necklaces are such a basic that I think all women should have. I have a bunch, but I need to wear them more.
