How to Give an Edge to a Feminine Look? Opposites Attract With Moto Boho
There’s a new trend this year coming from women inspiring each other on social media, rather than from designers this time. Chloe’s Spring 2025 collection renewed an interest in the romantic side of Bohemian style through sheer layers and lacy, billowy, flowing, floral clothes. But women have gone beyond this feminine look and are combining it with a tough and edgy opposite: moto-inspired elements. This modern version is called Moto Boho. Age doesn’t matter when you’ve got style!
The edgy vibe of moto jackets, boots, etc., dresses down frilly fancy clothes to make them wearable more often. You won’t have to save your luscious lacy things for evenings only.
This is nothing new. It’s been around. It has just become very popular at this time. Women love their girly things (see my Best of 2024 post) and pairing high with low brings it all down to earth.
Following are moto pieces that can transform your most feminine clothing for every day use and bring bohemian pieces up to date, with a few examples of each. I hope you’ll try these ideas and come back to let us know how it works best for you.
Motorcycle Jackets

- Pair a moto jacket with a frilly or lacy skirt or dress.
- A black faux leather jacket + a long satin skirt + a top of your choice. Add moto boots.
- A leather jacket over a crochet top, dress or skirt.
- Add a moto jacket when wearing a fringed skirt.
Slouchy/Chunky Leather Handbags

A slouchy bag with studs is a perfect blend of moto and boho.
Moto Boots
This doesn’t have to be a strict idea, but can be stretched. Use what you have. Combat boots will work perfectly fine in place of biker boots.
- Wear a maxi skirt or dress, such as a dark floral or bohemian style, with biker boots. You might also add a moto jacket if it’s cool out.
- Pair a fringed bag…or fringed anything such as a jacket, vest or skirt…with moto boots.
- A white tee + ivory lace skirt + tan faux leather jacket. Add biker boots + a chunky chain necklace + sunglasses if sunny.
- Wear a chunky sweater or cardigan with a boho skirt or dress and biker boots.
- A peasant top + blue jeans + a biker vest. Add long strands of beads & pendants + biker boots.
Studded Accents
Incorporate anything with studs into your bohemian-style clothes. This can be jewelry, shoes, jackets, jeans, hats, bags, etc.

- A flowing top with denim, suede and a studded bag.
Cinq a Sept Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear from Vogue - Pair a ruffled blouse + studded black pants, leather or not.
Moto Vests

- Layer a moto vest over a crochet dress or top.
- A moto vest over a ruffled dress or top.
So What Do You Think?

Would you like to wear your sheer layers, ruffles, chiffon and organza, lace and crochet anytime and not just for evenings? Which moto pieces do you like the most? Or, do you prefer a simple (faux) leather jacket? Do you think you’ll give this high low styling a try? Or maybe you already have been combining your clothes this way. I would love to hear your thoughts. Please share them with us. You can leave a reply below.

I love everything about this particular aesthetic. That fringed studded vest is so cool. I still have my Harley boots, but, dang, are they uncomfortable. I do love the whole boho style. Love all these looks…but, my wallet would not!

Thanks so much for your feedback, Marsha! I was wondering what my readers would think even though I like this style and wear it myself. I have a pair of tan biker boots I’m thinking of wearing with my white lace-edged skirt. Sorry about your wallet. Lol! I search photos that illustrate what I’m talking about rather than shopping things for you to buy. I’ll tell you, it takes enough time to find the right styling so it doesn’t leave me with extra time to shop for my readers. But these pieces can definitely be found at the right price points if you shop the look.
