What to Wear for Pride Month and Beyond in Bold & Subtle Ways
June is designated as a special time to encourage those who love outside the box to be proud of who they are and let themselves shine. In that vein of being your true self, I wholeheartedly support this celebration of humanity with all its slogans. A Pride slogan t-shirt is always good, but there are many other bold and subtle ways to show that love is love. Age doesn’t matter because older is bolder!
I would like to wear something to show that I support the right of all humans to make love in their own special way. If you do too, I have everyday outfit ideas for that. See how many ways we can make a statement just by how we dress!
What to Wear for Pride Month & Beyond…
Showing your support through clothing is one of many ways to be an ally for a community that has constantly had to fight for their humanity. Keep in mind that Pride doesn’t only mean rainbow everything. It’s a good start, but I found a number of other ways as you will find below. Use the style suggestions herein as a basis for your outfit anytime you like. It’s your intention that counts!
T-Shirts, Natch!
A t-shirt is the easiest way, of course, to say what you think. Some of my favorite slogans are: Just Be You, Being Yourself Is Never Wrong, Celebrate What Makes Us Each Unique, It Takes a Lot of Courage to Be Who You Are, More Pride Less Prejudice, Peace Love Equality, Love is Love, Love Wins, Trans Rights Are Human Rights, The Future Is Inclusive, Be Careful Who You Hate – It Could Be Someone You Love. For more ways to wear your t-shirt, see my post “15 Powerful Ways to Speak Your Truth With a T-shirt” HERE.
Colorful Stripes
Do you have anything in a rainbow of colorful prints or colorful stripes?
Rainbow Colors
A skirt or scarf with rainbow colors in it can turn any outfit into a message of support in June. The colors to look for are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.
Or add an arm full of colorful bangles or multi-colored bead jewelry to any basic outfit.
Watercolor Inspired
Watercolor-inspired pieces reflect the colors of the rainbow.
Dip-Dye
Dip-dye can be similar to a rainbow, depending on the colors. But no matter; it’s the thought that counts!
Ombre
Wear anything in an ombre dye, one color blending into the next, to give a nod to inclusivity.
Bright Florals
Most likely you have floral pieces to pull out now and make outfits out of. Pair with neutrals for easy combinations.
Multi-Color Prints
Even if you don’t have a floral print, any splashy multi-color print makes an impression.
Neon
In the spirit of being seen, what could be more eye-catching than neon colors? Let me know if you think of anything! Haha.
Rainbow Crochet
There are lots of brightly-colored crochet pieces perfect for summer.
Colorful Tie-Dye
A colorful tie-dye t-shirt commands attention. If you have a slogan pin to attach, that’s even better.
Glitter
Pride means let yourself shine. Wear something glittery, whether glitter makeup or clothing that shimmers in some way. Check out my style tip on how to sparkle and shine HERE.
A Sheer Skirt
Sheer skirts are worn by all at Pride parades and festivals. A fully-lined sheer skirt is safest, of course, but you can be more bold if you like. It’s in style right now to go sheer on the bottom if you wear a long top. Or try a sheer skirt over a slip, another skirt, bike shorts, leggings or pants.
Bold Color & Splashy Prints With Neutrals
To get in the spirit of love for all, combine one piece with bold color and lines with the rest of your outfit neutral. Even just green or just red gives off a bright and cheerful signal.
Bright Colors in the Subtlest Details
If you want to be super subtle, these decorative multi-colored buttons add a playful pop to this otherwise polished linen design.

Gosh, I love that glitter bomber jacket with that gorgeous skirt! I am not the one to wear colour but wearing rainbow colours for support is good!
I totally agree about the sequin bomber and the support! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Nancy. – XO, Angie
