Outfit of the Day: A Style Tip for How to Best Wear Biker Shorts

Labor Day Weekend is coming up and we’re in a heat wave until the designated final weekend of summer is over. So I’ve been thinking about the coolest things we can wear in hot weather. Shorts are a close runner up to a dress or caftan. This style tip for biker shorts will fit right in with the celebrations this weekend, such as cookouts and the like. You will look casually classy in this outfit formula; it’s not the usual sporty tee and sneakers combo. So age doesn’t matter.

I prefer longer biker shorts. Do you? You can choose lengths from 5-8 inches or longer.

Try this outfit formula to achieve the classiest look with biker shorts.

Style Tip:  Top bike shorts with a tunic. Then accessorize with a necklace, flat sandals, a straw bag, sunglasses, etc.

One of my favorite outfit formulas is a tunic or tunic-length top over leggings. For hot days, bike shorts are a cooler alternative since they are like wearing short leggings.

An oversized tee and biker shorts look less sporty and more classy in black, especially with sandals or boots instead of sneakers. This set, shown above, is designed just right to wear any way you like.

When the weather cools down, cover up with a blazer, moto jacket or duster. Or wear an oversized sweater or sweatshirt over the slim biker shorts.

    • Sounds like you’re a great experimenter with your clothes…and I’ll bet with life in general! I’ve been seeing women with political t-shirts and pearls a lot lately. Pearls are always in style and they do seem to look great with everything.
