A slip dress is not only a sexy little slip of a thing. It can be worn solo in the summer, of course, or when you’re feeling sexy….But does it really have to be sexy? The answer is no. You can wear it night or day and do so many things with it! Layer under and/or over it: light layers during the spring and summer and heavy layering during the fall and winter. You can add as many layers as you want. It makes the slip dress wearable for all. Age doesn’t matter.
This is an update on how to layer a slip dress during warm weather. My next post will be an update on how to layer a slip dress for cool or cold weather.
How to wear a slip dress anytime and anywhere when it’s warm out:
Do you sometimes wonder how you can feel cool yet look classy when it’s hot? I found the answer long ago in the book: Hot Tips: 1000 Fashion and Beauty Tricks by Frances Patiky Stein. In the “Summer Tricks” section of the book, she tells how to make an instant summer suit. I’ve used this outfit idea dozens of times when I was working and it kept me cool while being office-appropriate. Although this won’t work for a very conservative corporate environment where an actual suit is required, it’s useful in many other ways. You can put together your own suit from cool separates where the dress codes is not so strict as well as for business evenings, business travel, city day meetings and events and even business in country settings. Age doesn’t matter at all!
First I’ll give you the trick as presented by Stein in her book. Then I’ll tell you how I used it myself and how this outfit combination can be adapted to different occasions. This post is an installment in my Style Tips category.

Age doesn’t matter. I have come up with about 50 ways to make your pencil skirt useful during the warm seasons!
There are so many ways to wear a pencil skirt that I am writing about it in two parts. This is Part One: For the Warm Weather Seasons, Spring and Summer. In the fall, I will write Part Two: For the Cool Weather Seasons, Fall and Winter.
I share my outfit ideas and list them for you so that you can use them to put your clothes together every day without having to think about it.
