I have a tuxedo jacket that my sister gave to me awhile ago. And now I am discovering that there are so many ways to wear it that I didn’t realize. You can wear it day and evening, to work or business events, on weekends, on dates and all around town! It dresses up anything, but it can be dressed down too. This jacket can go from the casual to the fanciest of events. And now I have style tips and outfit ideas to show you how to make the most of the remarkably versatile tuxedo jacket.
Since it’s a menswear piece, it looks best paired with something feminine. Even if you are wearing a full tuxedo suit, wear a top that is more bare and girlie such as a satin camisole or lacy tank top. With a jacket over it, age doesn’t matter. And since you can wear a tuxedo jacket in place of a jean jacket, this piece is useful in anyone’s wardrobe!
If you already have a velvet blazer, it can be used in place of a tuxedo jacket. Substitute it in any of the outfit combinations below.
This is an updated post with two style tips and 44 ways to wear a tuxedo jacket/blazer.

For women, menswear is a pairing of opposites. Usually, menswear style for women is masculine mixed with feminine. But there are a lot more possibilities than that when you take the masculine, conservative, businesslike, structured qualities of menswear and experiment with styles that are simply the opposite. Age doesn’t matter. From the simplest, easiest ways to style menswear to six ways to mix it, six style tips and 12 outfit ideas…I hope that this post helps you to see how to put your own spin on the menswear look.
My sister passed on to me her vintage 1980’s black watch plaid blazer back when I was working an office job. It’s still useful and always will be. A plaid blazer is an autumn/winter staple that can go from work to weekend. Age doesn’t matter. I have 33 ideas here for how to wear it. These ideas go beyond the matching suit. So if you have a plaid suit, you might want to break out that blazer and see what else it can do!
Since the plaid blazer is a print, I start out with print mixing ideas. Then I have a few ideas for wearing it with dresses and skirts. And finally, I came up with 20 ways to wear it with different colors of jeans and other types of pants. I hope you will make use of some of these outfit ideas. I’d love to hear from you if you will leave a reply below!
