White tanks and tees have been a wardrobe staple for many decades, so how can they be trending? It seems that they have been showing up all over the streets since quarantine was over. Comfort and simplicity had taken over our lives by then and it seems we won’t let it go. I’ve been noticing that even I, who never wanted to wear the same outfit twice, have been gravitating to my most comfortable clothes. Over the summer, I enjoyed the ease and flow of skirts, dresses and kaftans more than ever before. And during the winter, I love to bundle up in chunky knits, hygge style. So today I am focusing on how to wear a white tank or tee, basics that we all most likely have. I have a roomy t-shirt that has crisscross straps at the v-neckline. Since I’ve had it awhile, I was feeling the need to come up with more ways to wear it. While I was surfing the net for ideas, I found that I needed to use a variety of terms to find what I wanted. I looked for lace-up tops, lattice tops and crisscross tops. Yet I found only a little in each category of exactly what I was looking for. There were lots of sexy, bare tops shown, but that’s not what I’m talking about. A lace-up top can be subtly sexy or it can be more romantic, like a soft blouse or a poet’s shirt or even a peasant top. I hadn’t even been thinking of those and I own each of them.
My focus at the moment is more of a t-shirt with a lace-up neckline as a camisole, tank, short-sleeve, long-sleeve or tunic length top. Whether you’re working at home or relaxing on weekends, you can still look good — even when no one’s looking. Just for you…your true self…body, mind and soul…to be comfortable and beautiful. So I’m going to share with you my ideas on how to look cute when you’re just lounging around. Age doesn’t matter.
Since I’ve been working at home writing a fashion blog, I don’t need to get dressed for work anymore. I’m around the house a lot. And, of course, I just want to be comfortable. It’s time to dress down.
Yet I still like to play with colors, scarves are my signature piece, and I like to add a cool piece of jewelry or more. As always, I don’t like to wear the same thing twice; I like to create endless combinations of what I have. Yet I have some favorite combos, such as a tunic with skinnies or a maxi with a t-shirt. And the best thing is: I love my jeans.
